Welcome to Elemental Path! The Way that may allow you
the freedom to recognize what foods you choose, in a way
that balances your natural state of being at any given
point in time & space. Provided a choice of food, the
natural way is to balance what you may be craving and
provide the necessary nudges to increase the basis for
that balance. What you want may very well be what you
need! Sometimes, the replacements that we find available
simply do not do the trick; hence we continue consuming
until other feedback indicates some form of stop message
to the consumption craving. Learn what is available
through the system of five elements- you may notice your
current balance, then if satiation has occurred a
recognition of satisfaction occurs. Why not give it a try,
and stop the mindlessness?
Elements interact in different directions- generating and controlling. In
a generating cycle motion, fire creates earth (ash) which creates metal
(through melting) which creates water (liquid) which creates wood
(through growth) which creates fire (through combustion). In the
control cycle, fire controls metal (through melting) which controls wood
(think axe) which controls earth (roots break up earth to grow) which
controls water (dams hold water) which controls fire (fire puts out
water).
Each element is associated with many other aspects of life- from
organs (hollow and solid) to colors, temperatures, emotions, virtues
and seasons.
Transformation of Negative Emotions may be enacted through a taught
meditation surrounding these generational and controlling cycles, but it takes
time, and practice. Who wouldn't want to transform their negative emotions into
positive energy for enacting this process? Only the ignorant would ignore these
processes, yet even with training, they are elusive. For who knows oneself well
enough to diagnose an emotion in the moment of it's strength? This is where
practice, and some trained guidance, come in useful, and in turn generate the
respect and love for the guide. Learning to know oneself, and one's immediate
karmic reactions to situations, allows one the transforming capability to use this
energy in more practical ways than has been observed in the classical media.

Transformations
In the creation cycle, each element is transformed into the next. Wood is burnt up producing fire, which
disappears leaving earth (ash) behind. Metal, as it melts, loses itself as it becomes liquid (now water),
and water is taken up by wood through the roots of a tree.
Wood==> Fire==>Earth==>Metal==>Water
Similarly, the energies of the elements as associated through meditation with each organ, emotion and
virtue may also be transformed through the practice of awareness. For example, a student teacher
relationship may elicit fear (water) in the student. The gentle value may factor into kindness (wood) to the
teacher, in an attempt to alleviate the fear. In another example, the joy (fire) of a beautiful spring day
creates a feeling of fairness (earth), especially after a long spell of less accommodating weather.
In the control cycle, metal controls wood (like an axe through a tree), which breaks up earth through root
growth, which controls water like a dam, and the water controls fire through removal of combustion.
Metal==>Wood==>Earth==>Water==>Fire
In star formation, the control cycle forms the lines drawing together the points of the star as seen in the
ko diagram. The creation cycle (sheng) runs along the outside of a circle drawn around these points.
Transformation through these various energies can be guided, both through practicing meditation, and
through “nudging” with the appropriate elements from the food supply. The occasional special teacher
can provide the proper impetus for a student to move along in their journey down the path, and this can
be a powerful means of learning the capacity of this system.
